It has been three weeks since Andy Muschietti’s IT: Chapter One has hit theaters. It received the praise it deserved by critics and fans alike and consequently broke box office records, including supposedly making more money than 1973’s The Exorcist. The director, as well as his sister and producer Barbara Muschietti, announced that an extended version of the film will be worked on in time for its home release. In addition, they revealed more details for the extended/ Director’s cut version as well as the sequel.

A day or so ago, Warner Brothers and New Line Cinema announced that the sequel, subtitled Chapter Two, will awaken from hibernation on September 6, 2019.

With less than two years away, we can ascertain that the director and the returning cast–Bill Skarsgård and the child actors–will take their time in production for the film and be just as great as its predecessor. At this point, we only know so much about the sequel except for who is cast as the adult Losers Club. Muschietti is hoping to use the same narrative from the book–oscillating between the young Losers’ time and the older Losers’ time. As long as Stephen King approves of it, we are sure this film adaptation will be worth the watch.

In addition, we also have a rather lengthy article reviewing, discussing, and analyzing as much of the 1986 novel, the 1990 miniseries, and the 2017 film as possible.

The first chapter of IT is floating in theaters today, and you will float too. For more Stephen King and IT-related news and reviews, follow Geek Motivation on Twitter (@GEEKMOTIVATION) and Instagram (@geekmotivation).
